Dear fellow golfers,

You will be happy to know that Yayasan Tanam Pohon Indonesia is now fully functional and has started its activities in full earnest. Our first plantation project at Mega Mendung went off well providing us with valuable experience and the success has encouraged us to take up new challenges.



We are currently raising funds for our future projects and I request you to kindly contribute towards the same.

We are working on the following projects:

Plantation event on August 7: In association with PT Sentul City, we will plant 15,000 trees in Sentul. Ms. Universe and Puteri Indonesia will grace the occassion along with Andrew Steel, the founder of PATT (UK), and a few other dignitaries. We expect an attendance of more than 750 people including school children for this event. We have a committment from Sentul City that atleast 11,000 trees of the 15,000 trees will not be cut for a period of 40 years.The total expenditure for the event is around 500 Million Rp. We are approaching corporate sponsors as well for this event. However, we need a lot of support from Individuals as well. I encourage you to contribute as many trees as possible @ 3 USD per tree.

Plant Nursery: We are facing a constraint on the supply of saplings for our plantation project. PT Sentul City has kindly allowed us the use of approximately 4 hectares of land to be used for a period of one year (initially) to be used as a nursery. We aim to use this opportunity to create a source of supply for our mega "One Million Tree" plantation project on April 22, 2008. We have estimated the cost for creating / operating the nursery to be in the region of Rp. 6 Billion. This of course forms part of the project cost of the "One Million Tree" campaign. We would again be approaching corporates for sponsorships - but individual contributions are invaluable, most welcome and the best source of inspiration for all of us at the Yayasan Tanam Pohon Indonesia.

Besides monetary contributions, I also request your presence at the event on August 7, 2008 at Sentul City. In case you wish to participate in the planting event, please do let me know and I will revert with more details.
